you tell me you love me

You tell me you love me.

You grab me and pull me towards your body, you press your lips to mine, oh those lips.

You reply right away, give or take an hour or two

You hold my hand.

You kiss me.

You say you’re impressed with me.

And it gives me a burst of joy that engulfs my limbs

Fleeting but intense.

But it’s hazy. You never told me.

I miss you, I like you, my feelings for you, never before.

Ya.

Snaps, texts, FaceTime? Hangout?

What. are. you. doing. tonight.

You play along, you drag me along, I feel so along.

You respond to stimuli, you dance around the flashes,

Instinct without feeling.

It’s my lips, your my teeth, my fingers that ask and probe

Your lips, they pucker, they’re pulled tight, your fingers fidd—

Never mind.

You don’t tell me. I feel good, I am good.

But but but but but

But what?

You asked me once if this is what I wanted.

No it isn’t.

You are.

But I’m just not.
