poems about facing my dark self

Through the mist and the haze

Out of shadow

From behind

You emerge.

You’re repulsive. Born of violence, cold and dark

From distant lands, otehr times

I do now know you.

But you seem to know me.

Stop following me. Hide that knowing smile, stop guessiing, no knowing where I’ll be and why.

I don’t like you.

Nobody does.

You tried to kill me once.

But when we fought, I won, I banished you, you went away.

Away. Ways away. Way away

Away

Yet here you are.

Irresistible, indescribable, insurmountable

And maybe beautiful.
