To me the value of love is to validate that my most vulnerable, authentic version of myself is ‘good’. Good means a wide variety of things, including acting morally, capable of positive growth and transformation, worthy of others’ love. Fundamentally, I want to matter. I want to feel deeply connected to others, and to the world. I want my presence to be felt as well as my absence. Funny, we’re back to love. I value love so it validates I am a person who matters. More than that, I want it to help me grow, I want to help others grow, and I want my love with others to grow as we do. We are a network, love is the connection, and deeper, larger number of connections make the network more effective.
